In construction, scaffolds are temporary frameworks built alongside a structure to provide support while the building is constructed, refreshed, or reinforced.
In education, scaffolding refers to instruction that is tailored to a student's specific needs and abilities, building on existing skills, to promote learning and eventual independence.
My goal as a teacher is the same, to come alongside students, building on their strengths, introducing new skills and strategies with the end goal of fostering independent learners ready to stand on their own.
Scaffold Educational Support specializes in helping students ages eleven to adult reach their potential with individualized support from a Licensed Special Education teacher.
